RTE for general contractor Goldbeck based in Germany
Construction work on the Nokia factory began in July 2007, and the first stage was completed in a record period of just seven months. Also, the second stage of the construction was carried out according to the established plan.
The first technological line for the assembly of mobile phones was inaugurated on February 10, 2008. The Finnish company Nokia manufactured in Jucu, in the first three months after the start of production, one million mobile phones.
The Finnish concern produces Nokia 1200 mobile phones at Jucu. During the maximum production period, Nokia had 3,500 employees, but the estimates of the Employment Agency was around 15,000 people, the figure including the employees of the partner companies.
By the end of 2008, Nokia Romania reached 1,200 employees on the production line. Unfortunately, Nokia Factory closed at the end of 2011.
