Carastelec Winery is the first investment in Romania designed to produce mainly sparkling wines and sparkling wines. It is located in one of the oldest wine-producing areas in the country, near the mountainous massif Măgura Şimleului, also called the crystalline island of Transylvania, an area that is noted by a separate soil, from which the vines are extracted. the minerals needed to create elegant, refined and refined wines.
The winery appeared on the wine map of Romania in 2011, when the 22 ha were planted, with varieties chosen for champagne. The compact plantation on the hill above the village forms a natural amphitheater with southern exposure. The winery building, which was awarded the Excellence in Construction Award in 2015, was designed taking into account that it is extremely important that the grape processing is carried out in the immediate vicinity of the plantation. Currently, the building operates with green energy, ie, heating and cooling are provided with geothermal pumps, and energy consumption is mitigated by solar panels.
